Lakshminarayana Global Music Festival

This festival was launched in 1992 by my late wife Viji as a tribute to my late father and our guru Prof. V. Lakshminarayana. He belongs to the guru-shishya parampara (master-disciple tradition) of Sri Baluswamy Dikshithar who is believed to have introduced the violin to Indian music. It was my father's dream to make the Indian violin (which was at his time used mostly for accompaniment) as a primary solo instrument on par with the western violin and see it played all over the world in prestigious concert halls. He has been a torch bearer in introducing fabulous, masterful and original techniques in playing the violin, to have a complete mastery over the instrument while maintaining all the ornamentations which are most essential to Indian Classical Music. This has been the most important factor that has contributed to bringing the Indian violin to its present stature.

Our festival is  the  unique Global Music Festival where eminent artistes from around the globe perform with leading Indian musicians on the same platform. The philosophy of this festival is to promote Global Peace and Harmony through fine arts. In the past, our festival has not only conducted concerts in India, but has also collaborated and presented concerts in different parts of the world.
